In the two year old classroom, the ratio is seven children per teacher, which is below State ratio. We actively abide by a daily schedule to teach the children the importance of routine.
Qualified Teachers assist in your child’s educational development in a variety of ways. Reading with the children is a large part of the curriculum. Through interactive reading, the children pick up new words and meanings therefore allowing the children to incorporate them into their language and everyday surroundings. Circle time is a 30 minute span for review and recitation over flashcards pertaining to letters, sounds, colors, shapes, numbers, and Mandarin.
As a more effective way of communicating with all children sign language is woven into the lesson plan of each day. There are instruction times for Mandarin and Spanish.
Basic motor skills are intermingled into the fun games that the children enjoy like jumping and balancing. In this room, a domain hand starts to develop and the ability to color within lines is in the emerging stage. You will receive several weekly projects your child will have completed allowing you to share in their growth and progress!
Respect and manners are also a large priority in the classroom. The children will be taught to say please, thank you and learn how to pick up after themselves. At Phoenix Preparatory Preschool & Child Care, we wish to nurture positive young children.
